Private Mechanic, is an enabling, digital platform, that allows vehicle owners and reputable motor vehicle specialist to connect to one another. The portal was built out of the idea that many of today’s referrals for finding mechanics or technicians, is still done through word of mouth. People call one another up and ask if they know a good guy who can look at their car, because it is too expensive to take the car back to the manufacturer to repair.

Many vehicle owners however quickly realised that while using a private mechanic can generally work out cheaper, there are also massive risks associated with using the wrong mechanic, and the frustration and conflict that can result from that experience can lead to even more costs, safety issues and even more damage to the vehicle than originally estimated. There are also those who prey on the uninformed and elderly especially and take advantage of them with false promises, inferior products and complicated pricing that moves higher with each conversation that you have with them around how they are progressing with the vehicle repairs. We want to save vehicle owners from these guys, and hence the need for this platform.

We want to build a database of reputable, honest, hardworking folks, who have a passion for what they do and who will get us back on the road with peace of mind that their work is always conducted in a professional manner in line with manufactures standards and best practice.
